This third installment starts of on the slow foot but gains momentum throughout. Some pieces of the puzzle fall into place while others turn out to be something altogether different than we thought. There's a good mix of tension, action and reveals as the main storyline advances as several minor arcs draw to completion. Secrets are revealed but bigger questions sprout forth. The core.characters continue to flesh out as.they gain skill and grow closer to one another. New angles are exposed and Red and companions gain and lose party members. Some players are.removed from the board while others are put into play.Keeping spoilers out of this review had been difficult and is the primary reason for the murky hints I've laid but it seems fitting considering the parallel to what we've seen so far.5 stars and well deserved. Don't jump in here without reading the previous books is my best advice.P.S.Waiting for the next book is going to difficult but I'll be eagerly anticipating #4. Another excellent read from AC Cobble. The 3rd book, and continuation of Rew’s story, was riveting from the beginning. Anyone that has been following this storyline, knows we are quite in the middle, and in suspense of what comes next. I am one of the fortunate few that gets to read the books before they are released to the public. And then I always buy the audiobook to listen to as soon as it is released. If you have not caught up on the story I strongly suggest you do so. It is an enjoyable and action packed read. I’ve said it before, but I will say again that I enjoy this particular storyline because it focuses on the lives of more mature characters. The interactions between all the characters relatable. Aside from the fact that very few of us actually wield magic....Nor are we a part of a murderous, traitorous, and backstabbing family. Well maybe that part is more relatable than others. Anyways, ignore my rambling. Just read the books. They are great.
